First day of Speech

We missed the first week of speech as we were on vacation, then we had labor day, so we did not have class that day. Sam's first official day of speech this year it rained , poured, flash flooded. (I think we broke some records too) I wanted to take a picture of him for his first day... so here it it, in the car, before we made a mad dash to the entrance.Molly was happy for him that morninguntil she realized we were leaving him there and going away. (she has had a very hard time each time we leave him, she misses him, this is just 2 days a week, 1 1/2 hours each time... what is it going to be like when he goes to kindergarten next year?!) This is me, after running Sam to the door of his school. What you can't see is the dripping water from my clothes...all in all it was a good day. Sam was a little apprehensive when we first arrived, but once he saw Ms Melanie's face he was beaming and RAN straight into the building! (I was never more happy as to have him see a familiar face)

TuTu for you

I teach the kindergarten mission friends (M&M) class on Wed nights at church. Sam is still in the 3-4 year old class. After the classes learn their lesson and do their project etc, we have been combining them for music time. THIS is how I found my sweet son when I brought my group over to his room to sing. Yes, that is a purple TUTU that he is wearing. He wore it the whole time. But you know what? he belted out his songs (and when I say belted, I mean more like screamed them. I am sure that the pastor heard him all the way in the other building!!!)
When asked why it was that he wore the purple tutu he said he thought he could get the attention of his girl friends better that way... way to go son, that for sure is the way to win a girls' heart--- put on a skirt and scream your songs :)

state fair 2010

What a beautiful and fun day. We headed down to the state fair with our friends. It was crazy, 2 adults and 5 children under the age of 5. The kids were SO good. I just can not say it enough, the kids were SOOOO good! We ejoyed the sights, sounds, smells, food, animals, dog show and of course the rides.
Sam and Hanna got to go on several rides. Sam was having a blast, but he did keep a death grip on each ride! It was a little different this time than the last wow--- that was 2 whole years ago! Sam and Hanna both enjoyed the rides this time.

Molly was watching from the sidelines, wanting to ride too. I wasn't sure how she would do, she has never been on anything like that beforeAnd then it was time, the moment of truth... I should never have questioned it... my sweet little daredevil got to ride her first ride... and LOVED IT. Aubree did not care too much, but I have to keep in mind that even though she is bigger than Molly, she is still 8 months younger! What a cute little bearLions, and tigers and bears, oh my!-- this Lion is eating my boy (and he did this all himself, making sure I got his picture in it!!)Sam, Hanna, and Molly got to enjoy one last ride together- we could tell it was getting later as the crowds were getting thicker and the rides fuller. So, what do you think? Did they like it?I should say so!!!!!

OU/TX weekend

It is that time again... time to celebrate the big game of the year... When OU and TX play at the fairgrounds. We did not get to go to the game, but Sam was very excited about it this year and couldn't wait to watch it on tv. I of course had to get the kids all dressed up (even though we had no where to go) and ATTEMPT to get a cute picture of the kids. Here is how it went...

Finally get a good smile from one, but look at the other
I am done being the good one this timeMolly couldn't run away fast enough--- check out the hair flying in the wind"I will sit here, I will pose, but I will NOT smile"
"yes mommy, I will hold this cheesy grin as long as I can, while we wait for Molly to turn happy"Do you remember that song we always sang at church? "if you are happy and you know it..."
Sam and Molly were chasing one another... Molly caught Sam and was wrestling him down
He then flipped her, sat on top of her, and then decided to to take a sip of his water (in the special tea cup)ok kids, since you are on the floor, let's just lay together and say cheese
not sure what was happening here, but I do know that Molly was trying to run away and Sam was trying to keep her theresweet? innocent? angelic? yeah, yeah, whatever "stop smiling Sam, you are making me look bad"and FINALLY...or sometimes it helps to just splice 2 individual pictures together and wala...

hotdog roast

WOW--- this summer seemed to fly by, and my "blogging" sure did take a hit didn't it. I am still not sure what the right way to do this is... do I start with the stuff where I left off, or do I start with the most recent events? I have always heard with scrapbooking that you should start with the most recent and start backward. Since this blog is sort of an on line scrapbook for our friends and family I shall do that. (I know, stop talking and get on with it right?!)

The first day it cooled down from 100 degree weather, Sam was all set and ready to have a hot dog roast with Ma and Pa. It was a really nice evening, perfect for hot dogs and marshmallows (as well as a few other yummy treats)

sometimes it is better to "lick" the marshmallows than actually eat them, I guess
