zzzzzz

One of my favorite things to do is look at my sweet children as they sleep. There is something so sweet, innocent, peaceful and calm about it. Maybe it is because they are in constant non-stop motion while awake. though I don't like what sleep means for them (a time to recharge their little batteries) I do like the stillness of the night. I also like to see the interesting positions they end up in...Molly is usually always the same. blue and yellow blanket (ganket) underneath her, a friend by her head or her side and a green pacifier in her mouth. with the other pacifier close by.

check out this one... 1 in mouth, 1 in each hand--- ain't nobody gonna mess with her addiction here :)Sam on the other hand... well, let's just say that he is a more "active"sleeper. He is a moth to light. He will try to get as close to the light in the hallway as he can. We have side rails on his bed, still not sure why...
here he hangs over the foot board... (point closest to the door--- the door that allows the light from the hallway in)
Here he is as low as he can go in the bed. His feet are hanging over in the sheet. Also his bed buddies (taggie, dog and other stuffed animal (this one changes weekly)) have fallen onto the floor by being too close to the edge.
And then there is this one.. his whole little body is balanced on the narrow foot board, and of course, his head facing the door.

artist in training

I was busy unloading the dishwasher and starting supper...

Molly was quiet...
the artist started smiling when she saw me (and the camera) coming toward her... she thought she colored a masterpiece. I thought how glad I was that it was just a crayon.at least it was only the floor, and not everywhere else like HERE

once in a life time occurance

I knew he was tired, but I think he was exhausted... We were snuggling up on the couch watching cartoons or something and he just kept getting more and more comfy on me, then his breathing got quite relaxed and rhythmic. I had Kirk check to to be certain...
My big baby boy actually fell asleep on me :) It made my heart smile.

and the result is.....

and 7 days later we found out that there were definitely more than 3---- there were 5! As the kids and I were playing in the back. I nonchalantly checked out the scene. (the kids don't know about the new little babies we are growing yet... it is just best that way, for everyone involved) I found 2 huddled up IN the playhouse... and 3 in the whole to the side of the playhouse hwere they were originally spotted, only with less fur around them. I can't believe how much they have grown... and here they are--
Did you guess it?! BUNNIES! Again, the kids were kept in the dark about our house guests. However, 2 days later...I only saw 1 lone bunny when we were out in the yard. Kirk had done a little reading up on them and we thought they might be alright if we were to touch them. And since there was only 1 left in the nest we thought why not?! Only problem was, after supper, when we went back out to see the lone bunny, they had multiplied YET again... there were 3 all huddled together in the tall grass beside the playhouse, under the swing set. We debated and debated and decided to only allow Sam to "See" the bunnies since there were so many left. Sam was "itching" to touch them and then we remembered something that Kirk had read... in just one season, a single female rabbit can have about 900 babies/grandbabies/great-grand babies. WOW!!! yes, I said 900!!!! When I went to get 1, the bunnies scattered in 3 different positions, and FAST too!both kids were so excited to pet the tiny bunny. We had not really told Molly what was going on, but as soon as she saw it in my hand, she started shouting BUNNY RABBIT BUNNY RABBIT. I was amazed that she knew what it was... she had only saw a small section of his face. after I put our bunny back into his home, I went to look for the others to see if they were still around. I was able to find 2 huddled up against a fence post and another huddled against the fence close by. That makes 4 and I am almost positive that 1 of the 3 was still under the rose bush, if so that would make 5 again.

Pictures

It is mid July. Sam' turned 4 in March, Molly turned 2 in June. I have not gotten their yearly photos taken. We have not been to the photographer since Thanksgiving. There is a reason for this. It is a horrible experience. No, the photographers are usually great, I am pleased with the studio... you see, it is my children that make this such an awful time. No smiles, no sitting, no listening. I know I have talked about this before so I wont bore you with the details, but the session did end with Molly running on the background, and somehow falling flat on her back and smacking her head. game over, session over. We were done. One cool thing though, we ran into a friend of mine and her 2 year old. She said how much she looks forward to getting his pictures taken as well ha

What are we growing in the back yard?

Kirk was edging the yard a week or so ago and called me out. I thought he must have cut the pool or broken a toy of some sort, but then he took me over to the area between the swing set and the playhouse. This is the site I saw...
close...
closer...
closest... but what is it? yup, that is animal fur, but the question was, WHAT KIND OF ANIMAL?

these little creatures barely had fur on them themselves so it was hard to make them out.... BUT I saw something very promising amongst the little feet and bodies and earswe think there are 3 of them... what is YOUR guess?
