princess for a day

Molly was invited to a Princess birthday party---  apparently this is a popular theme for 5 year olds, there were 4 princess parties in 1 week (sat-sun then sat-sun)

only this party was the fanciest by far---  there was lots of fancy decorations, a real live princess wandering around and outfits (including  dresses, shoes, and jewelry) all ready and waiting for us
there was a rented carriage
and of course the magical feeling of being a princess--- if only for the day :)

last day alone together...

The day was June 5th.  It was a Wed. School would be out in 2 days.  Thurs was the end of the year party, Fri was the last day with the award ceremony etc.  I looked at my baby girl and realized today is the very last day we will have together.  I will be up at the school celebrating with Sam for the next 2 days, then it will be summer break.  Come August and the time for school to re-start Molly will be joining her big brother.  So, I asked her if she wanted to do something.  She said she wanted to go to the zoo. So off we go, right then, Elmo shirt, tutu and all.
the gorilla was having a nice siesta
she wanted to hold hands with the statues
i love zebras--- don't you?
the giraffes--- up close and personal
did I mention it was quite warm that say?
these next two were taken per her request.  AND if any of my children ASK to have their picture taken I will ALWAYS oblige

pout pout fish in the big big dark

It was the end of the year performance for all the 1st graders.  We were in the middle.  This meant we did not get a chance to see Sam...  or get a good picture.  (the other parents tended to be quite obnoxious about it) so... here it is.  Sam is wearing blue.  front row.. kinda of like trying to find Waldo :)

they are multiplying like bunnies

Guess what we found...

 a sibling :)

poor bunnies...

they just thought we were the perfect place to be born
little did they know that they would be loved so much ha ha
after our little play session, the poor bunny was transported down by the pond.  hopefully he found a good spot away from the coyote crossing

spring has sprung, and creatures are here

Spring has certainly sprung and with the nicer weather comes all kinds of little creatures.  Seems my kids love them all.

who knew how much fun a roly poly bug could be?!
what about about 20 of them?
apparently they tickle when they move :)
look what we found beside our garage.  Didn't find any of his siblings... but we know there has to be some!

fields of sunflowers

On my way to work one I know I was driving down the highway and something strange caught my eye.
In an open field area all I could see was bright yellow. As far as the eye could see.
I couldn't make it out, but knew it was something unusual and beautiful
The next morning, on my way home I was able to take a closer look.
SUNFLOWERS.  1.000's of sunflowers.
a strange, unusual sight in the middle of no where.  SO beautiful to see.
I already knew what I had to do, juts needed to figure out how to get there.
I spoke with my parents about them as well.  They had seen yet another field, just as beautiful.
It was a little closer and had better access.
so off we went.  Just the three us us.
to attempt to get a shot of this natural beauty.
along with my 2 beauties.
And so they smiled and I shot
and shot
and shot pictures of these cuties.
and amazing enough I caught some pretty cute ones.
so many in fact,
that is was hard to pick just
one or two....
